Mill 95 is proud to partner with Obendorf Hop to bring the first commercial field of Triumph to Idaho.
Triumph is a new public variety developed by John Henning, a research geneticist at the US Department of Agriculture. This new dual purpose variety brings a unique combination of tropical fruit, bubble gum, and white peach aromas that we think will set your next brew apart from the rest.

Each hop plant is trained by hand. The bines of the hop plant are gathered and trained to grow up the string by wrapping them clockwise around the string. The timing of training is essential to setting the growth progression of the plant. Baby fields, like this Triumph field, are unique because they will need to be trained several times as needed through the season.
Obendorf Hop
Hops are watered by drip irrigation. This method is highly efficient, assuring 100% of the output stays in the field.
Every hop field is weeded, but baby fields get special treatment. Since the plants are not well established (yet) regular and rigorous weeding is scheduled and necessary for the plants to develop and thrive.
IT’S harvest TIME!
TURNING HOPS INTO HOP PELLETS
We’re excited to partner with Mill 95 and brew with Triumph from Idaho’s first commercial yard. As staunch supporters of the public hop breeding programs, we are beyond excited about this opportunity. Triumph came onto our radar when it was released back in 2018 with its unmistakable bubble gum profile with tertiary notes of peach, citrus and pine. A fresh hop beer, in collaboration with a great partner, is the perfect platform to showcase this awesome varietal.

CHEERS TO YOUR NEW, DELICIOUS BREWS
I think Triumph fits a lot of aromas that the market is in high demand for right now—tropical fruits, stone fruit, and bubblegum .
